To ratify the Protocol on Amendments to the Treaty on Allied Relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic dated December 25, 2003, signed in Astana on April 17, 2008.

Protocol on Amendments to the Treaty on Allied Relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic dated December 25, 2003

The Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic, hereinafter referred to as the Contracting Parties, reaffirming their commitment to According to the Agreement on Allied Relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic dated December 25, 2003 (hereinafter referred to as the Agreement), we have agreed on the following:

Article 1

To state article 12 of the Agreement in the following wording: "In order to implement the provisions provided for in this Agreement in stages, the Contracting Parties shall adopt Action Plans for Cooperation for each three-year period."

Article 2

After the entry into force of this Protocol, the Action Plan for Economic Integration between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic, which is an integral part of the Agreement, becomes invalid.

Article 3

This Protocol shall be applied temporarily from the date of signature and shall enter into force in accordance with the procedure provided for in Article 23 of the Treaty.

Done in Astana on April 17, 2008, in two original copies, each in the Kazakh, Kyrgyz and Russian languages, all texts being equally authentic. In case of disagreement in the interpretation of the provisions of this Protocol, the Contracting Parties will refer to the text in Russian.
