Article 1. Basic concepts used in this Law Chapter 1. GENERAL PROVISIONS OF the Toy Safety Act
The following basic concepts are used in this Law:
1) risk assessment - a set of measures aimed at identifying the possible impact of toys on human life and health, the environment, including determining the degree of danger;
2) toys - products intended for use by children solely for the purpose of play;
3) a person who places toys on the market of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a natural or legal person who sells or distributes toys free of charge on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.;
4) improper handling of a toy is the use of a toy in conditions or for purposes not provided for by the manufacturer;
5) toy material - the components of the toy available for contact, used in its manufacture;
6) user - the person who directly uses the toy;
7) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 07/15/2011 No. 461-IV (effective from 01/30/2012).
8) consumer - a natural or legal person who purchases toys;
9) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 13.06.2013 No. 102-V (effective after ten calendar days after its first official publication).
10) functional toy - a toy that is a scaled-down model of products or devices used by adults, simulating the same purpose and performing the same functions;
11) chemical toy - a toy whose playing process is associated with the implementation of chemical reactions;
12) an electric toy is a toy that has at least one function that depends on electricity.
The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 21, 2007 No. 306.
This Law regulates public relations regarding the definition, establishment, application, execution and control of toy safety requirements.
