Article 1. The basic concepts used in this Law Chapter 1. THE MAIN PROVISIONS of the Law on the Safety of Chemical Products
The following basic concepts are used in this Law:
1) warning label - information about the hazardous properties of chemical products and safety measures at the stages of handling, applied to products and (or) packaging in accordance with the requirements of technical regulations in the field of safety of chemical products;
2) risk assessment - a set of measures aimed at identifying the possible effects of chemical products on human health and life, the environment, including determining the degree of danger, dose (concentration);
3) dangerous chemical products - chemical products containing at least one chemical substance classified in one of the categories listed in paragraph 4 of Article 5 of this Law.;
4) packaging is a means or complex of means that protect chemical products and the environment from damage and loss, as well as facilitate the transportation, storage and sale of chemical products.;
5) applicant (manufacturer, supplier, importer) - a natural or legal person who carries out registration of chemical products and conformity assessment in accordance with the established procedure;
6) technical documentation - documents containing information necessary for risk assessment, having all available relevant data, including a full description of research methods and results or a bibliographic reference to them.;
7) chemical substance - an element or compound existing in nature or obtained as a result of technological operations;
8) chemical products - products that have passed the technological stages of extraction from natural resources and (or) transformation of raw materials using chemical reactions and are suitable for use to meet human needs or for production in the form in which it is produced by the manufacturer;
9) classification of chemical products - the division of chemical products by hazard types and categories of chemicals to identify its properties that have or may have harmful effects on human life and health, the environment;
10) authorized bodies ensuring the safety of chemical products (hereinafter referred to as authorized bodies) are state bodies that, within the limits of their powers, implement the state policy in the field of chemical product safety;
11) safety data sheet for chemical products - a document containing information on the characteristics of chemical products and measures to ensure their safe handling;
12) the life cycle of chemical products - the processes of production, application, storage, transportation, sale, destruction and disposal of chemical products;
13) container - a packaging element, which is a product for the placement of chemical products, made in the form of an open or closed hollow body.
The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 21, 2007 No. 302.
This Law establishes the legal basis for ensuring the safety of chemical products for the protection of human life and health, environmental protection and consumer interests in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
