Article 1. The basic concepts used in this Law of the Law On the Legal Protection of Integrated Circuit Topologies
The following basic concepts are used in this Law:
1) Bulletin - the official periodical on the protection of integrated circuit topologies;
2) an integrated circuit is a microelectronic product of a final or intermediate form designed to perform the functions of an electronic circuit, the elements and connections of which are inseparably formed in the volume and (or) on the surface of the material on the basis of which the product is made.;
3) the topology of an integrated circuit (hereinafter referred to as topology) is the spatial and geometric arrangement of the set of elements of an integrated circuit and the connections between them fixed on a material medium.;
4) copyright holder – the author, his heir, as well as any natural or legal person who has an exclusive right obtained by virtue of a law or contract.;
5) license agreement – an agreement under which the copyright holder (licensor) grants the other party (licensee) the right to temporarily use the topology in a certain way.;
6) patent attorneys are citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who, in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, are granted the right to represent individuals and legal entities before the authorized body.;
7) the exclusive right to a topology is the property right of the copyright holder to use the topology in any way at his discretion.;
8) use of a topology – the application, import, offer for sale, sale or other introduction of a topology, an integrated circuit with this topology or a product including such an integrated circuit into civil circulation carried out for commercial purposes, unless otherwise provided by this Law;
9) authorized body – the central executive body exercising, within the limits of its powers, leadership in the field of legal protection of integrated circuit topologies.
