The following basic concepts are used in this Law:

1) social adaptation is a set of measures implemented by subjects of crime prevention aimed at forming a personality capable of accepting and observing norms and rules of behavior in society.;

2) social rehabilitation is a set of measures implemented by subjects of crime prevention aimed at providing legal, social, psychological, and pedagogical assistance to a person with unlawful behavior, as well as the process of overcoming psychological and (or) moral trauma.;

3) law-abiding behavior is the conscious behavior of a person who complies with the norms of behavior established by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and does not violate human and civil rights, freedoms, interests of society and the state.;

4) crime prevention is a set of legal, economic, social and organizational measures implemented by the subjects of crime prevention aimed at preserving and strengthening law and order by identifying, studying, and eliminating the causes and conditions conducive to the commission of offenses.;

5) subjects of crime prevention - state bodies, local self-government bodies, organizations and citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who carry out crime prevention;

6) legal education is a set of educational, informational and organizational measures aimed at the formation of law-abiding behavior, legal awareness and legal culture of citizens.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 29, 2010 No. 271-IV.

This Law defines the legal, economic, social and organizational bases of the activities of state bodies, local governments, organizations and citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the prevention of offenses.
