The following basic concepts are used in this Law:

1) volunteer – an individual who carries out volunteer activities;

2) a group of volunteers is a voluntary unregistered community of individuals formed for the purpose of joint volunteering, which is subject to the norms established by this Law.;

3) a volunteer action is an event aimed at solving a specific socially oriented, socially useful task performed by a volunteer organization and (or) volunteers, and (or) a group of volunteers.;

4) a volunteer program (project) is a systematic set of measures aimed at solving socially oriented, socially useful tasks, indicating the activities and expected results carried out by a volunteer organization and (or) volunteers, and (or) a group of volunteers.;

5) volunteer activity is a voluntary socially oriented, socially useful activity carried out free of charge.;

6) the authorized body in the field of volunteerism is the central executive body responsible for the management and intersectoral coordination in the field of volunteerism;

7) register of volunteer activities – a data register containing information about volunteers, groups of volunteers, volunteer organizations, coordinators and organizers of volunteer activities, volunteer programs (projects), volunteer actions, the place and time of their holding, requirements for their implementation;

8) the organizer of volunteer activities is central and local executive bodies, local government bodies, other organizations, as well as individuals who attract volunteers independently or through volunteer organizations.;

9) a volunteer organization is a non–profit organization (with the exception of religious associations, consumer cooperatives, as well as public associations in the form of political parties or trade unions) established and engaged in volunteer activities in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan.;

10) corporate volunteering is the voluntary collective participation of employees of an organization in various volunteer programs (projects) and volunteer actions with the support of their organization.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 30, 2016 No. 42-VI SAM.

This Law establishes the legal basis, goals and objectives, principles, forms and types, as well as measures to support volunteer activities.
