The competence of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan includes:

1) development of the main directions of state policy in the field of creation and functioning of special economic and industrial zones;

2) making a decision:

on the creation of a special economic zone, including the definition of its objectives, approval of its regulations and target indicators;

on the extension of the period of operation of the special economic zone with the establishment of conditions for such an extension;

on the abolition of the special economic zone;

on the establishment or definition of a management company of a special economic zone or an industrial zone of national importance;

on changing the name of the special economic zone;

6) performing other functions assigned to him by the Constitution, this Law, other laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This Law regulates public relations arising from the creation, operation and abolition of special economic and industrial zones on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
