1. A residence permit for a foreigner in the Republic of Kazakhstan is issued to foreigners permanently residing in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan from the age of sixteen for a period of ten years, but not longer than the validity period of the passport of their country of citizenship.

2. When traveling abroad, the identity of a foreigner is confirmed by the passport of the country of his citizenship.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 29, 2013 No. 73-V.

This Law defines the legal basis of identity documents, establishes requirements for their registration, and regulates activities related to the production, issuance, replacement, delivery, seizure and destruction of identity documents.
