The technical basis of the state system for ensuring the uniformity of measurements in the Republic of Kazakhstan is formed by state standards of units of quantities, the creation and maintenance of which are carried out by the state.

State standards of units of quantities are intended for reproduction and (or) storage of units of quantities (multiples or fractions of units of quantities) and are used to transfer their sizes to standards of units of quantities, measuring instruments of these quantities in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The transfer of unit sizes is carried out from state unit standards by calibrating unit standards, verifying or calibrating measuring instruments, and in the absence of state unit standards in the Republic of Kazakhstan, from national unit standards of other states, the degree of equivalence of which is confirmed in the database of key comparisons of the International Bureau of Weights and Measures.

State standards of units of quantities are subject to comparison with standards of units of quantities of the International Bureau of Weights and Measures and national standards of units of quantities of other States.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated June 7, 2000 No. 53-II.

This Law regulates public relations that arise between government agencies, individuals and legal entities in the field of ensuring the uniformity of measurements, defines its goals, legal and organizational bases for ensuring the uniformity of measurements.
