Article 101. Appointment of elections of deputies of maslikhats of the Constitutional Law on Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan

Article 101. Appointment of elections of deputies of maslikhats of the Constitutional Law on Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan

     1. The basis for the appointment:

     1) regular elections are the end of the constitutional term of office of maslikhats, except in cases established by law.;

     2) early elections - early termination of the powers of maslikhats.

     3) excluded by the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 06/29/2018 No. 162-VI (effective ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication);

     4) election of deputies instead of those who have retired – early termination of the deputy's powers or deprivation of the mandate.

     2. Regular elections of deputies of maslikhats are appointed by the Central Election Commission at least three months before the expiration of the term of office of maslikhats and must be held at least one month before the expiration of the constitutional term of office of maslikhats.

     3. Early elections of maslikhat deputies whose powers have been terminated prematurely are appointed by the Central Election Commission on the basis of a Presidential Decree on early termination of the maslikhat's powers, a decision of the maslikhat on self-dissolution and must be held no later than two months from the date of early termination of the maslikhat's powers.

     3-1. Elections of maslikhat deputies to replace those who have retired are appointed by the relevant election commission.

     Elections of maslikhat deputies to replace those who have retired are held simultaneously on the last Sunday of March and (or) the last Sunday of October.

     In agreement with the Central Election Commission, the elections of maslikhat deputies may be scheduled by the relevant election commission for another date instead of those who have left.

     4. Excluded by the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 06/29/2018 No. 162-VI (effective ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication).

     5. Regular elections of deputies of maslikhats of all levels are held simultaneously and cannot coincide in time with the elections of the President and deputies of the Senate of Parliament.

     6. The announcement of the election day is published in the mass media.
