The authorized body in the field of transport:

1) exercises state control over compliance with the procedure for organizing and conducting mandatory technical inspections of motor vehicles and trailers to them by technical inspection operators;

2) develops the format of the technical inspection diagnostic card;

3) develops the procedure for organizing and carrying out by legal entities and individual entrepreneurs engaged in irregular passenger and baggage transportation activities to ensure the safety of passenger and baggage transportation.

3-1) approves the procedure for terminating or temporarily restricting the movement of vehicles on roads;

4) maintains the register of technical inspection operators; - Excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

5) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 29.12.2014 No. 269-V (entered into force on 01.01.2015);

5-1) approves the methodology for determining the cost of services for conducting mandatory technical inspections;

5-2) approves the rules for organizing and operating the emergency call system;

5-3) approves the rules for organizing and conducting mandatory technical inspections of motor vehicles and their trailers, as well as the frequency of mandatory technical inspections of motor vehicles and their trailers, with the exception of motor vehicles and their trailers belonging to the Armed Forces, other troops, and military formations.

5-4) determines the legal entity performing the functions of the emergency call system operator;

5-5) approves the requirements for specialized software that interacts with the unified digital system for mandatory technical inspection of motor vehicles and their trailers;

6) exercises other powers provided for in this Law, other laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This Law establishes the legal basis and general conditions for the functioning of road traffic and ensuring its safety in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
