Article 11. Ensuring radiation safety when exposed to natural radionuclides On radiation safety of the population
1. The exposure of the population and personnel caused by the content of radon and other natural radionuclides in residential and industrial premises should not exceed the established standards.
2. In order to protect the public and personnel from the effects of natural radionuclides, the following measures should be carried out::
selection of land plots for the construction of buildings and structures, taking into account the level of radon release from the soil and background radiation;
design and construction of buildings and structures, taking into account the prevention of radon entering the air of these premises;
carrying out production control of building materials, acceptance of buildings and structures into operation, taking into account the level of radon content in indoor air and background radiation;
operation of buildings and structures, taking into account the level of radon and background radiation in them.
3. If it is impossible to meet the standards by reducing the level of radon and background radiation in buildings and structures, the nature of their use should be changed.
4. It is prohibited to use building materials and products that do not meet the requirements for radiation safety.
5. The radiation doses of the population from natural radiation sources should not exceed the norms established for them by the authorized body in the field of healthcare.

This Law regulates public relations in the field of radiation safety of the population, in order to protect their health from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation.
