1. The transfer of the registered postal item is carried out by documentary or electronic confirmation of the receipt of the postal item, issuing to the sender a confirmation document on paper or in electronic form with assignment of the postal registration number (identification alphanumeric barcode) to the postal item, as well as delivery of the postal item against signature or otherwise using automated (electronic) devices, equipment and information systems confirming such delivery.

2. Registered mail items include: letter (registered, with declared value), postcard (registered), parcel (registered, with declared value), small package (registered, with declared value), parcels (simple, with declared value).

An additional list of types and categories of postal items included in the registered mail forwarding service is established by the rules for the provision of postal services.

Registered mail items are accepted with the obligatory indication of the return address.

3. Registered mail items are accepted for shipment both within the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad. The requirements for things, objects and goods sent by registered mail are determined by the rules for the provision of postal services.

This Law establishes the legal basis of activities and regulates public relations in the field of mail in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, defines the rights and obligations of subjects of postal activity, and the competence of state bodies in the field of mail.
