Article 11. State Accounting and Control of Radioactive Waste of the Law on Radioactive Waste Management
1. Radioactive waste is subject to state accounting and control in accordance with this Law and the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of atomic energy use.
2. State accounting and control of radioactive waste shall be conducted in order to ensure systematic and reliable accounting of their formation, accumulation, storage, processing, transportation and burial, to prevent their uncontrolled circulation, as well as to ensure nuclear, radiation, nuclear physical and environmental safety.
3. State accounting and control of radioactive waste include:
1) maintaining a register of radioactive waste;
2) maintaining an inventory of radioactive waste management facilities.
4. The authorized body shall organize and ensure the operation of the system of state accounting and control of radioactive waste.
5. The register of radioactive waste is maintained by the authorized body.
6. The procedure for maintaining the register of radioactive waste and the procedure for maintaining the cadastre of radioactive waste management facilities shall be determined by the authorized body.
7. The primary accounting of radioactive waste is carried out by the radioactive waste educators.
If it is impossible to determine the originator of radioactive waste, primary accounting is carried out by local executive bodies at their location.
