Article 12-2. Measures to protect charitable organizations and religious associations from their use for terrorist financing purposes The Law on Countering the Legalization (Laundering) of Proceeds from Crime, the Financing of Terrorism and the Financing of the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction
1. Charitable organizations, as well as religious associations applying for voluntary donations, take measures according to which their activities will not be used for terrorist financing purposes, and are also obliged to:
1) to make payments and money transfers at the request of third parties or on their own initiative through financial monitoring entities;
2) provide, upon request, financial statements on transactions with money and (or) other property and information on identified risks to the authorized body;
3) keep for at least five years information about transactions with money and (or) other property subject to mandatory state registration, as well as about the founders (participants).
2. If a charitable organization, as well as religious associations, suspects that they are being used to finance terrorism, they immediately, but no later than twenty-four hours after suspicion arises, send the relevant information to the authorized body.

This Law defines the legal basis for countering the legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime, the financing of terrorism and the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, the legal relations of financial monitoring entities, the authorized body and other state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of countering the legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime and the financing of terrorism, as well as the mechanisms for implementing targeted financial sanctions, related to the prevention and prevention of terrorism and the financing of terrorism, and the prevention, prevention and cessation of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their financing.
