1. The owners of the documents of the National Archival Fund are obliged to keep the documents in conditions that ensure their safety. The State Archives create a State Insurance Fund for copies of documents.

The State Insurance Fund of copies of documents is kept separately from the original documents of the National Archival Fund in a specially equipped repository of archival documents (archive).

2. The documents of the National Archival Fund (which are in state ownership), as well as the buildings, premises and equipment of the state archives and their branches are not subject to alienation.

3. Archival funds, archival collections, and parts thereof may be classified as objects of historical and cultural heritage of the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the procedure established by law and included in the lists of historical and cultural monuments.
