Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

1) submits draft laws to the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and ensures the enforcement of laws in the field of national security;

2) develops the main directions of ensuring national security and organizes their implementation, including organizes the development and implementation of a National Security Strategy;

3) directs the activities of ministries and other central and local executive bodies to ensure national security;

4-1) determines the procedure for approving the acquisition or other acquisition by individuals and legal entities of more than 10 percent of voting shares, as well as shares, units of an organization that owns and (or) operates or operates a communication line as an operator of long-distance and (or) international communications;

4) generates lists:

strategic facilities transferred to the authorized capital and (or) owned by national holdings and (or) national companies or their affiliates, as well as other legal entities with state participation;

strategic facilities owned by legal entities that are not affiliated with the state, as well as individuals;

5) excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 04.12.2015 No. 435-V (effective from 01.01.2016);

6) decides on the issue of a permit or refusal to issue a permit for a civil transaction that may pose a threat to national security with a strategic facility owned by individuals and legal entities, based on an industry opinion of the authorized body of the relevant industry;

7) exercise other powers on national security issues in accordance with the Constitution, laws and acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 6, 2012 No. 527-IV.

This Law regulates legal relations in the field of national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan and defines the content and principles of ensuring the security of man and citizen, society and the state, the system, goals and directions of ensuring national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
