Article 13. Recruitment and training of the national contingent of the Law on Peacekeeping Activities of the Republic of Kazakhstan
1. Recruitment of military personnel is carried out on a voluntary basis from among the military personnel of the Armed Forces, other troops and military formations of the Republic of Kazakhstan who are undergoing military service under a contract and have completed peacekeeping training.
2. Civilian personnel are recruited on a voluntary basis from among those who have completed peacekeeping training. A contract is concluded with the civilian personnel of the government agency (organization) in which he is a member, which stipulates the conditions and procedure for participation in a peacekeeping operation. The form of the contract is determined by the rules of preparation for a peacekeeping operation.
3. The training and preparation of the national contingent for a peacekeeping operation is carried out in accordance with the rules of preparation for a peacekeeping operation.
4. Peacekeeping training is carried out on the basis of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan according to the plan approved by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
5. Persons undergoing peacekeeping training shall retain their wages and place of work for the duration of the peacekeeping training. Remuneration and travel expenses are paid by the government agency (organization) that employs the trainee.
6. In order to provide peacekeeping training, exercises, courses, seminars, trainings and other events may be conducted with the involvement of civilian specialists and units of the armed forces of foreign countries.

This Law regulates public relations related to the participation of the national contingent of the Republic of Kazakhstan in peace and security operations (missions) in accordance with international obligations assumed by the Republic of Kazakhstan.
