1. The sale and use of seeds of agricultural plants for sowing (planting) are prohibited.:

1) infected with quarantine facilities;

2) those who have not passed an examination for seed qualities in accordance with the procedure established by this Law;

3) obtained on the basis of genetic engineering (genetically modified).

2. It is prohibited to sell, as well as use for sowing (planting) seeds that do not meet the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in terms of varietal and sowing qualities.

2-1. Seeds that do not meet the requirements of national standards and other documents on standardization in the field of seed production are not allowed to be sold and used for sowing (planting).

2-2. Seeds of agricultural plants with quality indicators reduced against those established by national standards and other documents on standardization in the field of seed production may be sold and used for sowing (planting) in coordination with the authorized body in accordance with subparagraph 13-1) of paragraph 1 of Article 6 of this Law.

5. Individuals and legal entities that are not certified in accordance with the procedure established by this Law may produce and use seeds only for their own needs without the right to sell.

This Law defines the legal, economic and organizational bases for carrying out activities in the field of seed production and is aimed at regulating the organization and functioning of the seed production system and state control over the production, harvesting, processing, storage, transportation, sale and use of seeds of agricultural plants.
