1. Ethno–cultural associations of the Assembly are non-profit organizations that share the purpose and objectives of the Assembly and operate on the basis of this Law and other regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The objectives of the Assembly's ethno-cultural associations are to develop the activity and self-activity of citizens, to satisfy their interests in the field of preserving and developing traditions, languages and culture.

2. Ethno-cultural associations of the Assembly are created in the organizational and legal form of public associations and can act as local, regional or republican ethno-cultural associations of the Assembly.

Local ethnocultural associations of the Assembly include public associations operating within the same region, including the city of republican significance, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and consolidating representatives of an ethnic group to achieve the goals and objectives of the Assembly.

Regional ethnocultural associations of the Assembly include public associations that have their own structural divisions (branches and representative offices) in less than half of the regions, including cities of republican significance, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and consolidate representatives of an ethnic group to achieve the goals and objectives of the Assembly.

Republican ethnocultural associations of the Assembly include public associations that have their own structural divisions (branches and representative offices) in more than half of the regions, including cities of republican significance, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and consolidate representatives of an ethnic group to achieve the goals and objectives of the Assembly.

3. Ethno-cultural associations of the Assembly participate in the implementation of state policy to ensure social harmony and national unity, promote the strengthening of Kazakh identity based on the principle of citizenship, on the basis of patriotism, spiritual and cultural community of ethnic groups of Kazakhstan with the consolidating role of the Kazakh people.

4. The Assembly includes ethnocultural associations that have passed the procedure of public accreditation.

The procedure and regulations on public accreditation of an ethnocultural association are determined by the Council.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 20, 2008 No. 70-IV.

This Law defines the status, procedure for the formation and organization of the work of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan aimed at implementing state policy to ensure public harmony and national unity, increasing the effectiveness of interaction between government agencies, organizations and institutions of civil society in the field of interethnic relations.
