1. Excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 07/15/2011 No. 461-IV (effective from 01/30/2012).

2. Owners of structures on inland waterways (including those under construction) are required to install navigation equipment, including floating and other equipment, at their own expense, and to ensure their operation for the safety of navigation in accordance with the requirements of technical regulations in the field of inland waterway transport.

3. Owners of bridges and other hydraulic structures operated and erected on inland waterways are required to:

1) to ensure unhindered and safe passage of ships, rafts and other floating objects;

2) to carry out at their own expense the necessary dredging and dredging work to their approaches;

3) to manufacture, install and maintain structures and devices necessary for the safe passage of ships;

4) to extend and raise the spans of drawbridges.

4. Owners of hydroelectric power plants and other water-pumping hydraulic structures that regulate the water level on inland waterways are required to maintain the water level necessary for unhindered and safe navigation in areas above and below such structures.

5. Excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 07/15/2011 No. 461-IV (effective from 01/30/2012).

6. Guaranteed depths on rivers used for navigation and located on the territories of several states are established in accordance with international treaties of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 6, 2004 No. 574.

This Law regulates public relations that arise between government agencies, individuals and legal entities in the field of inland waterway transport during navigation, transportation of passengers, baggage and cargo, operation of small vessels, including on bodies of water not related to inland waterways and sea waters, and also defines their rights, duties and responsibilities..
