The Tourist Information Center is an organization established by the akimat of a region (a city of republican significance, the capital), created to form and disseminate information about Kazakhstan and its tourism potential, promote a tourist product on the international tourism market and within the state, as well as to create conditions for the development of new business entities and scientific and methodological support in the field of tourism activities.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated June 13, 2001 No. 211.

This Law defines the legal, economic, social, and organizational foundations of tourism activity as one of the sectors of the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
