1. The identity card of the seafarer of the Republic of Kazakhstan is issued to citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who work on board a ship or study at educational institutions sent to ships for internship.

2. The identity card of the seafarer of the Republic of Kazakhstan is also issued to foreigners and stateless persons permanently residing in the Republic of Kazakhstan who are employed on ships registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

3. The seafarer's identity card of the Republic of Kazakhstan is issued for a period of validity of five years.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 29, 2013 No. 73-V.

This Law defines the legal basis of identity documents, establishes requirements for their registration, and regulates activities related to the production, issuance, replacement, delivery, seizure and destruction of identity documents.
