1. During the period of participation in a peacekeeping operation, the national contingent is provided with a three-fold monetary allowance (salary). Remuneration is provided by government agencies (organizations) staffed by individuals from the national contingent.

2. Upon returning from a peacekeeping operation, a person from the national contingent is sent for sanatorium treatment at the expense of the state body (organization), whose employee he is, for a period of at least seven calendar days, but not more than twenty-one days.

3. During the period of participation in a peacekeeping operation, as well as when traveling to and from the zone (area) of a peacekeeping operation, the national contingent is provided with meals from the state budget of the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the norms established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan for military personnel of the Armed Forces, other troops and military formations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, unless otherwise provided by international treaties.

The period of participation in a peacekeeping operation is the time from the moment of departure from the Republic of Kazakhstan and arrival in the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is determined by the mark of the structural unit of the territorial unit of the Border Guard Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the passport of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Upon departure to countries where the passport of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan is optional, the days of crossing the State border of the Republic of Kazakhstan are considered to be the period of participation in a peacekeeping operation.

4. Social security of military personnel participating (who participated) in a peacekeeping operation is carried out in accordance with the procedure provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

5. For military personnel involved in peace enforcement operations, the period of stay in the zone (area) of a peacekeeping operation is equivalent to participation in hostilities.

This Law regulates public relations related to the participation of the national contingent of the Republic of Kazakhstan in peace and security operations (missions) in accordance with international obligations assumed by the Republic of Kazakhstan.
