1. An application for the issuance of a security document for an invention (hereinafter referred to as the application for an invention) must relate to one invention or a group of inventions that are so interconnected that they form a single inventive concept (the requirement for unity of invention).

2. An application for an invention must contain the following documents:

1) an application for the issuance of a security document indicating the authors of the invention and the persons in whose name the security document is requested, as well as their place of residence or location;

2) a description of the invention, disclosing it with completeness sufficient for implementation by a specialist in the relevant field of knowledge;

3) the claim defining the object of the invention and expressing its essence. The formula must be clear, precise, and based on the description;

4) drawings and other materials, if they are necessary for understanding the essence of the invention;

5) the abstract;

6) power of attorney, in case of record keeping through a representative;

7) (deleted - dated March 2, 2007, No. 237).

A document confirming the payment of the application in the prescribed amount and a document confirming the grounds for reducing its size shall be submitted together with the application or within two months from the date of receipt of the application.

Subject to appropriate payment, this period is extended by two months.

If the payment documents are not submitted within the prescribed period, the application is considered unsubstantiated.

3. The date of filing an application for an invention shall be established by the date of receipt by the expert organization of the application documents specified in subitems 1), 2) and 4) of the first part of paragraph 2 of this Article, and if the specified documents are not submitted simultaneously, then by the date of receipt of the last of the submitted documents.

4. Excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 06/20/2018 No. 161-VI (effective ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication).
