In the event of a radiation accident, the operating organization is obliged to:

immediately inform the authorized state bodies responsible for state administration, supervision and control in the field of radiation safety, as well as local executive bodies of regions (cities of republican significance, the capital) and the population of territories where increased exposure is possible about the radiation accident.;

Jointly with authorized state bodies, ensure the implementation of measures to protect personnel and the public from a radiation accident and its consequences.;

take measures to provide medical assistance to victims of a radiation accident;

Take measures to localize the source of radioactive contamination and prevent the spread of radioactive substances in the environment;

to analyze and prepare a forecast for the development of a radiation accident and changes in the radiation situation during a radiation accident;

take measures to normalize the radiation situation on the territory of the operating organization after the elimination of the radiation accident;

Take measures to assess the individual radiation doses of personnel and the public and to transfer this data to health authorities and other authorized state bodies.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 23, 1998 No. 219.

This Law regulates public relations in the field of radiation safety of the population, in order to protect their health from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation.
