1. The powers of a member of the Assembly shall be terminated on the following grounds:

1) on the own initiative of a member of the Assembly;

2) in connection with the loss of citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan or departure for permanent residence outside Kazakhstan;

3) in connection with a change in the place of work of a civil servant who is a member of the Assembly and is a member of the Assembly by his public position;

4) in connection with the death of a member of the Assembly;

5) in connection with the recognition of a member of the Assembly as legally incompetent, deceased or missing by a court decision that has entered into force.;

6) in the case of rotation of a member of the Assembly provided for in subparagraph 4) paragraph 2 of Article 15 of this Law;

7) in connection with the recall by decision of the supreme bodies of the republican and regional ethno-cultural associations of the Assembly and other public associations that had previously nominated candidates for members of the Assembly.

2. By the decision of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the powers of a member of the Assembly may be terminated in the following cases::

1) inability to continue working as a member of the Assembly for health reasons;

2) improper performance by a member of the Assembly of his duties established by this Law;

3) committing an offense discrediting the title of a member of the Assembly;

4) the entry into force of a court verdict of guilty for committing a crime against a member of the Assembly;

5) other grounds.

3. The powers of a member of the assembly of a region, a city of republican significance, or the capital shall be terminated on the grounds specified in paragraph 1 of this article, as well as in the case of permanent residence in another region, city of republican significance, or capital.

This Law defines the status, procedure for the formation and organization of the work of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan aimed at implementing state policy to ensure public harmony and national unity, increasing the effectiveness of interaction between government agencies, organizations and institutions of civil society in the field of interethnic relations.
