1. Measuring instruments that are objects of state metrological control in accordance with Article 22 of this Law are subject to type approval before being put into circulation.

The decision to approve the type of measuring instruments is made by the authorized body on the basis of positive test results for the purpose of approving the type of measuring instruments and is certified by a certificate of approval of the type of measuring instruments of the established sample, the validity period of which is established upon its issuance.

2. For measuring instruments put into circulation in single copies, which are objects of state metrological control in accordance with Article 22 of this Law, it is allowed to conduct metrological certification.

The decision on the metrological certification of measuring instruments is certified by a certificate on the metrological certification of measuring instruments of the established sample, the validity period of which is established upon its issuance.

3. Type approval tests and metrological certification of measuring instruments are carried out by the state scientific metrological center, including using the material and technical base of testing laboratories in third countries.

The approved type of measuring instruments and measuring instruments that have passed metrological certification are entered into the register of the state system for ensuring the uniformity of measurements.

3-1. Measuring instruments included in the list of measuring instruments put into circulation based on the results of the initial verification of measuring instruments are not subject to tests for the purpose of type approval and metrological certification of measuring instruments.

4. Excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 05.10.2018 No. 184-VI (effective six months after the date of its first official publication).

5. Information on the approval of the type of measuring instruments and the decision to cancel the approved type shall be published in the official publications of the authorized body.

6. Measuring instruments that are in operation and in storage after the expiration of the type approval certificate are used until complete physical wear and tear in compliance with the requirements of Article 19 of this Law.

This Law regulates public relations that arise between government agencies, individuals and legal entities in the field of ensuring the uniformity of measurements, defines its goals, legal and organizational bases for ensuring the uniformity of measurements.
