1. A travel document is issued:

1) a person who has been granted refugee status to travel outside the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

2) Excluded by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 05/16/2024 No. 82-VIII (effective ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication).

2. The travel document is valid for one year, while for refugees the validity period of the travel document should not exceed the validity period of the refugee certificate.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 29, 2013 No. 73-V.

This Law defines the legal basis of identity documents, establishes requirements for their registration, and regulates activities related to the production, issuance, replacement, delivery, seizure and destruction of identity documents.
