Article 18. Procedure for transfer of radioactive waste to the national operator for disposal of the Law on Radioactive Waste Management

     1. The transfer of radioactive waste to the national operator is carried out in accordance with the procedure established by the authorized body.

     2. Radioactive waste becomes the property of the national operator after confirmation of its compliance with the acceptance criteria and from the moment of signing the act of acceptance and transfer of radioactive waste.

     3. Before the transfer of radioactive waste to the national operator, the radioactive waste producer or a specialized organization involved by him, which has an appropriate license in the field of the use of atomic energy, carries out the conditioning of radioactive waste.

     4. The transfer of ownerless radioactive waste is carried out in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

     5. The disposal of ownerless radioactive waste is carried out at the expense of budgetary funds in cases and in accordance with the procedure provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
