Article 18. Rights and obligations of the national contingent of the Law on Peacekeeping Activities of the Republic of Kazakhstan
1. The national contingent enjoys all the rights provided for by the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The rights and freedoms of the national contingent in a peacekeeping operation are limited or expanded only by the laws of the host country and international treaties ratified by the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2. The national contingent must comply with the Constitution, laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the host country, as well as respect the customs and traditions of the local population.
3. Military personnel are subject to the duties provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the general military regulations of the Armed Forces, other troops and military formations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The scope of responsibilities in a peacekeeping operation may be limited or expanded by a mandate.
4. The national contingent is assigned official duties in accordance with its position in the peacekeeping operation.

This Law regulates public relations related to the participation of the national contingent of the Republic of Kazakhstan in peace and security operations (missions) in accordance with international obligations assumed by the Republic of Kazakhstan.
