Article 18. Structure and composition of the Supreme Court of the Constitutional Law On the Judicial System and the Status of Judges of the Republic of Kazakhstan
1. The Supreme Court consists of a Chairman and judges.
The total number of judges of the Supreme Court is established by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan upon the proposal of the Chairman of the Supreme Court.
2. Judicial boards are being established in the Supreme Court and specialized structures may be created.
3. The organs of the Supreme Court are:
1) Plenary and extended plenary sessions;
2) excluded by the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 02/21/2019 No. 226-VI (for the procedure of entry into force, see art. 2);
3) judicial board for civil cases;
4) Judicial board for criminal cases;
5) judicial board for administrative cases.
The Judicial Board is headed by the Chairman, who is appointed to the position in accordance with the procedure established by this Constitutional Law.
4. The numerical and personal composition of the judicial board shall be established by the plenary session of the Supreme Court upon the proposal of the Chairman of the Supreme Court.
5. Specialized panels are formed by the Chairman of the Supreme Court.
6. A scientific advisory council, an international council and a press body are being formed under the Supreme Court.
