Article 19. Rights and duties of diplomatic service personnel Chapter 5. Rights, duties and responsibilities of the diplomatic service personnel of the Law on the Diplomatic Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan

      1. In the exercise of their professional functions, diplomatic service personnel have the right to:  

     1) to make proposals for improving the activities of the diplomatic service bodies;  

     2) to enjoy privileges and immunities established in accordance with the norms of international law during their stay abroad.;  

     3) enjoy other rights and freedoms guaranteed to citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan by the Constitution and legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan.  

     Employees of the diplomatic service also have the right to make proposals on issues of the state's foreign policy, to improve the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of international relations, to bring it in line with the international legal obligations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.  

 

     1-1. Employees of the diplomatic service who have the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and their spouses have the right to use the diplomatic passport of the Republic of Kazakhstan for life.

     2. The staff of the diplomatic service is obliged to:  

     1) conscientiously perform duties related to the diplomatic service;  

     2) respect the legislation, traditions and customs of the host State;  

     3) not to disclose information constituting state secrets or other legally protected secrets even after termination of diplomatic service;  

     4) to improve their professional level, qualifications, general political training, improve their knowledge of the state and foreign languages;  

     5) perform other duties established by the legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan.  

 

 

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 7, 2002, No. 299.

       This Law defines the legal basis, as well as the procedure for organizing the activities of the diplomatic service of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
