Genomic registration is carried out in the following order:

1) biological material is taken from persons subject to genomic registration, unidentified corpses, as well as the removal of biological material from unidentified persons from unsolved serious or especially serious crimes during a pre-trial investigation in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.;

2) the biological material of the persons specified in subparagraph 1) of paragraph 1 of Article 18 of this Law is sent to the authorized division of the internal affairs bodies for obtaining genomic information and carrying out genomic registration.;

3) the biological material of the persons specified in subparagraph 2) of paragraph 1, paragraph 2 of Article 18 of this Law and unidentified corpses is sent to the authorized division of the internal affairs bodies for research and genomic registration or to the forensic examination bodies of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the forensic examination bodies), or to an individual carrying out forensic-expert activity on the basis of a license for conducting a forensic examination.

The forensic examination authorities or an individual carrying out forensic expert activities on the basis of a license shall send a copy of the genomic information obtained during the forensic molecular genetic examinations to the authorized department of the internal affairs bodies for genomic registration.

This Law regulates public relations in the field of fingerprint and genomic registration in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
