Article 2. Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on social and medical-pedagogical correctional support for children with disabilities Law on Social and Medical-pedagogical correctional support for Children with Disabilities

      1. The legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on social, medical and pedagogical correctional support for children with disabilities is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan and consists of this Law and other regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan.  

      2. If an international treaty ratified by the Republic of Kazakhstan establishes rules other than those contained in this Law, the rules of the international treaty shall apply.  

      3. Relations related to state support for orphaned children, children with mental illnesses, low-income families and other categories of persons in need of state support are regulated by this Law only to the extent that it is related to social, medical and pedagogical correctional support for children with disabilities.  

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 11, 2002 No. 343.

     This Law defines the forms and methods of social, medical and pedagogical correctional support for children with disabilities, is aimed at creating an effective system of assistance to children with developmental disabilities, solving problems related to their upbringing, education, labor and vocational training, and preventing childhood disability.
