1. The main tasks of the Security Council are planning, reviewing and evaluating the implementation of the main directions of state policy in the field of national security, strengthening the country's defense capability, and ensuring law and order.

The Security Council performs other tasks in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and decisions of the Chairman of the Security Council.

2. To carry out the tasks assigned to it, the Security Council develops and makes appropriate decisions and recommendations, coordinates the activities of government agencies and organizations.

This Law defines the legal status, competence and organization of activities of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
