Article 20. Issuance of identity documents of the Law on Identity Documents
1. Identity documents are issued by authorized state bodies to the owner or his legal representative no later than thirty calendar days from the date of filing an application for identity documents (with the exception of documents issued in foreign institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan).
2. At the request of an individual, in accordance with the procedure established by the internal affairs bodies, identity documents provided for in subparagraphs 1) – 4) of paragraph 1 of Article 6 of this Law are issued in an expedited manner.
For the expedited issuance of the documents specified in the first part of this article, payment is charged in accordance with the price list approved by the internal affairs bodies in coordination with the antimonopoly authority.
3. When filling out identity documents, the surname, first name, patronymic (if any) and other data are recorded in accordance with the document that served as the basis for their issuance, except in cases provided for by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This Law defines the legal basis of identity documents, establishes requirements for their registration, and regulates activities related to the production, issuance, replacement, delivery, seizure and destruction of identity documents.
