1. The determination of the varietal qualities of seeds of agricultural plants is carried out through the approbation of crops, soil assessment and laboratory varietal tests in accordance with the requirements established by regulatory legal acts, standardization documents, and is mandatory for certified seed producers.

2. Varietal crops of agricultural plants, the seeds from which are intended for sale or use by seed production entities for their own seed crops, are subject to mandatory testing.

3. Original and elite seeds of agricultural plant varieties included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements recommended for use in the Republic of Kazakhstan are subject to soil assessment.

4. Elite seeds intended for subsequent sale and seeds of the first reproduction of varieties of agricultural plants included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements recommended for Use in the Republic of Kazakhstan are subject to laboratory varietal tests.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated February 8, 2003 No. 385.

This Law defines the legal, economic and organizational bases for carrying out activities in the field of seed production and is aimed at regulating the organization and functioning of the seed production system and state control over the production, harvesting, processing, storage, transportation, sale and use of seeds of agricultural plants.
