Article 25. Powers of a Deputy of the Parliament of the Republic of the Constitutional Law On the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Status of its Deputies

Article 25. Powers of a Deputy of the Parliament of the Republic of the Constitutional Law On the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Status of its Deputies

     1. A deputy enjoys the right to a decisive vote on all issues considered at sessions of Parliament and meetings of its bodies, of which he is a member.

     2. A member of Parliament has the right:

     1) to elect and be elected to the coordinating and working bodies of the Parliament and its Chambers;

     2) to make suggestions and comments on the agenda of the session, the order of consideration and the substance of the issues discussed;

     3) express their opinion on the candidacies of officials who are elected or appointed by the Chambers of Parliament or whose appointment is approved by the Chambers of Parliament;

     4) submit proposals to the Bureau of the Chambers on issues proposed for consideration at joint and separate sessions of the Chambers of Parliament, and if its proposals are not accepted, submit them to the plenary sessions of the Chambers.;

     5) to propose issues for consideration at meetings of the Parliament and its Chambers;

     6) to make proposals on hearing at the session of Parliament the report or information of officials accountable to the Chambers of Parliament;

     7) to submit parliamentary inquiries in accordance with the procedure established by law;

     8) participate in the debate, ask questions to the speakers, as well as to the chairman of the meeting;

     9) to substantiate their proposals based on voting reasons, to provide information;

     10) to amend draft laws, resolutions, and other acts adopted by Parliament;

     11) to acquaint members of Parliament with citizens' appeals of public importance;

     12) to get acquainted with the texts of the speeches of deputies in the transcripts and minutes of the meetings of the Parliament;

     13) exercise other powers in accordance with this Constitutional Law, regulations of the Parliament and its Chambers.

 

 

Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 16, 1995 No. 2529.

     This Constitutional Law, in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, defines the organization and activities of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the legal status of its deputies.
