Article 27. Transfer of powers of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Constitutional Law On the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Article 27. Transfer of powers of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Constitutional Law On the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

     1. In case of early release or dismissal of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as his death, the powers of the President of the Republic for the remaining term shall pass to the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament; if the Chairman of the Senate is unable to assume the powers of the President, they shall pass to the Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament; if the Chairman of the Mazhilis is unable to assume the powers of the President, they shall pass to the Prime Minister of the Republic. The person who assumed the powers of the President of the Republic resigns the powers of the Chairman of the Senate, the Chairman of the Mazhilis, and the Prime Minister, respectively.

     2. A person who has assumed the powers of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the grounds and in accordance with the procedure provided for in paragraph 1 of this Article, is not entitled to initiate amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

     This Constitutional Law, in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, defines the legal status of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
