Article 28. Requirements for a judge of the Constitutional Law on the Judicial System and the Status of Judges of the Republic of Kazakhstan

     1. A judge must:

     1) strictly observe the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, be faithful to the oath of a judge;

     2) when performing their constitutional duties in the administration of justice, as well as in off-duty relationships, observe the requirements of judicial ethics and avoid anything that could discredit the authority, dignity of a judge or raise doubts about his honesty, fairness, objectivity and impartiality.;

     3) to resist any manifestations of corruption and attempts to unlawfully interfere in the administration of justice;

     4) to observe the secrecy of the judges' meeting.

     1-1. In the cases provided for by this Constitutional Law, judges are assessed by the Commission on the Quality of Justice at the Supreme Court (hereinafter referred to as the Commission on the Quality of Justice).

     2. The position of a judge is incompatible with a deputy's mandate, with holding any other paid position other than teaching, scientific or other creative activities, carrying out entrepreneurial activities, or joining the governing body or supervisory board of a commercial organization.

     Judges may not belong to political parties, trade unions, or speak in support of or against any political party.
