The legal regime of pastures is determined based on their belonging to a particular category of land and the permitted use procedure in accordance with the land, forest, water legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of specially protected natural territories and the protection, protection, restoration and use of flora.

This Law regulates public relations related to the rational use of pastures and is aimed at preventing the degradation of pastures and improving the condition of pasture infrastructure facilities.
