The purpose of the Assembly is to ensure social harmony and national unity in the Republic of Kazakhstan on the basis of Kazakhstani patriotism, civil and spiritual and cultural community of ethnic groups of Kazakhstan with the consolidating role of the Kazakh people.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 20, 2008 No. 70-IV.

This Law defines the status, procedure for the formation and organization of the work of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan aimed at implementing state policy to ensure public harmony and national unity, increasing the effectiveness of interaction between government agencies, organizations and institutions of civil society in the field of interethnic relations.
