1. In order to encourage scientists, researchers of scientific organizations and organizations of higher and (or) postgraduate education, who have contributed to the development of science and technology, may be:

1) nominated for the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of science and technology, established by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

2) presented to the state awards of the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on state awards;

3) nominated for annual awards for the best scientific research and works, outstanding achievements in the field of science;

4) nominated for state scientific scholarships;

5) nominated for the annual "Best Researcher" award in the amount of 2000 times the monthly calculation index established by the law on the republican budget and effective on January 1 of the corresponding fiscal year.

State scientific scholarships can also be awarded:

scientists and researchers who are actively involved in conducting fundamental and (or) applied scientific research in priority areas for the state, training scientific personnel;

young scientists under the age of forty, inclusive, who are actively involved in conducting research to solve scientific problems and have received recognition from the scientific community.

2. Awards of prizes and state scientific scholarships are carried out by the authorized body and industry authorized bodies within their competence in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

3. As a measure of encouragement for students, scientists, researchers, and young scientists under the age of forty, a scholarship may be paid from the endowment fund's investment income (endowment capital).

This Law regulates public relations in the field of science, scientific and (or) scientific and technical activities, commercialization of the results of scientific and (or) scientific and technical activities, defines the basic principles and mechanisms of functioning and development of the national scientific system of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
