1. The National Defense University of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the National Defense University) is an educational organization that implements educational programs for postgraduate education.

2. Military personnel, officers of special state bodies, civil protection bodies, as well as members of civilian personnel of the Armed Forces and government agencies have the right to enroll in the National Defense University if they have access to state secrets. At the same time, civilian personnel of the Armed Forces and government agencies are trained only using distance learning.

3. Persons enrolled in the National Defense University are appointed to the positions of a resident military doctor, master's student or doctoral student while maintaining the status of a serviceman or employee.

4. Military personnel, employees of special state bodies, civil protection bodies appointed to the position of a resident military doctor, undergraduate or doctoral student, are provided with monetary allowances in accordance with the unified remuneration system for employees of bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan maintained from the state budget, approved by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in coordination with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

5. The teaching staff of military educational institutions must undergo advanced training at least once every three years.

This Law regulates public relations in the field of military service by citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan and defines the foundations of the state policy on social security for military personnel.
