1. In order to take into account and protect public interests in the implementation of state information policy, as well as to meet the information needs of the population, regional commissions on state information policy are being established under local executive bodies.

2. The main functions of the regional commissions on state information policy are:

1) consideration of applications from applicants for a state order for the implementation of state information policy at the regional level and development of proposals in accordance with the rules for placing a state order for the implementation of state information policy at the national and regional levels;

2) sending applications from applicants for a state order for the implementation of state information policy at the regional level for consideration by the Republican Commission on State Information Policy and for recommendations in accordance with the rules for placing a state order for the implementation of state information policy at the national and regional levels;

3) exercise of other powers provided for in the model regulations on regional commissions on state information policy.

3. In its activities, the Regional Commission is guided by the model regulations on regional commissions on state information policy.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 23, 1999 No. 451-I.

This Law regulates public relations in the field of mass media, establishes state guarantees of their freedom in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
