1. The objectives of state regulation in the field of food safety are:

1) providing:

food safety for human life and health and the environment;

protection of legitimate consumer interests; environmental safety; national security;

2) promotion of entrepreneurship;

3) harmonization of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan with international norms and rules for the protection of human life and health, legitimate interests of consumers;

4) increasing the competitiveness of domestic products;

5) creating conditions for the development of international trade.

2. State regulation in the field of food safety is carried out on the basis of the following principles::

1) the priority of food safety for human life and health and environmental protection;

2) prevention of possible harmful effects on human health and the environment;

3) transparency of activities carried out by the state;

4) transparency, accessibility, and reliability of information;

5) scientific validity of risk assessment;

6) traceability of food products in all processes (at stages) its development (creation), production (manufacture), turnover, disposal and destruction;

7) responsibility of subjects for ensuring food safety in all processes (at stages) its development (creation), production (manufacture), turnover, disposal and destruction.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 21, 2007 No. 301.

This Law establishes the legal basis for ensuring food safety to protect human life and health, the legitimate interests of consumers and environmental protection in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
