1. The following tasks are assigned to the National Guard:

1) protection of important state facilities and special cargoes;

2) participation jointly with the internal affairs bodies in the protection of public order, suppression of mass riots, ensuring public safety and legal regimes of emergency and martial law, anti-terrorist operation, participation in it, as well as in measures to eliminate emergencies of a natural, man-made and social nature and their consequences;

3) protection of institutions of the penal enforcement system, with the exception of convicted women and minors intended for serving sentences, full security institutions and pre-trial detention facilities;

4) exercising control and supervision over the behavior of persons held in institutions of the penal system protected by the National Guard, as well as citizens located on their territory;

5) escorting convicts and persons in custody;

6) participation in the performance of tasks of territorial defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Territorial Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan";

7) participation in special operations to neutralize armed criminals, stop the activities of illegal paramilitary or armed formations (groups), organized criminal groups (communities) on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

8) participation in the suppression of grave and especially grave crimes, sabotage, acts of terrorism, armed clashes and separation of the warring parties;

9) performing tasks in accordance with international treaties ratified by the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2. Other tasks of the National Guard are assigned by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This Law regulates public relations in the sphere of activity of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
