Transport lands in the republic are recognized as:

- land allocated to land users for transport facilities;

- lands for transport roads and tracks allocated to transport, road and other organizations engaged in their construction and operation.

Land and water relations arising from the allocation of land to transport and the provision of water to water transport, and the procedure for their use are regulated by land, water and transport legislation.

In order to ensure the reliable operation of structures and other transport facilities in areas prone to landslides, landslides, washouts, mudflows and other dangerous natural influences, protective zones are established.

Transport enterprises and carriers are obliged to use the lands provided to them in accordance with the intended purpose and conditions of their provision, apply environmental protection production technologies and prevent deterioration of the environmental situation in the territory as a result of their activities.

This Law defines the foundations of the legal, economic and organizational activities of transport in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
