Article 40. The term of the contract and the procedure for its conclusion The Law on Military Service and the Status of Military Personnel
1. The contract for military service has been concluded:

1) for three years;
2) for five years;
3) within ten years;
4) before reaching the age limit for military service;
5) for cadets and military trainees – for the duration of their studies at a military or special educational institution and for ten years of military service after graduation (for flight cadets – for fifteen years of military service after graduation);
6) for students, undergraduates, doctoral students, adjuncts – for the duration of their studies and for five years of military service, for military medical residents - for ten years of military service after graduation from a military or special educational institution or before reaching the age limit for military service;
7) for reserve soldiers – for three years;
8) for cadets – for the duration of their studies at a military educational institution and for five years of military service after graduation.
2. The procedure for the selection of candidates and their admission to military service under a contract is determined by the Rules of Military Service.
The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated February 16, 2012 No. 561-IV SAM.
This Law regulates public relations in the field of military service by citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan and defines the foundations of the state policy on social security for military personnel.
